There's more than just the change in the date of the Primary Election from its traditional first Tuesday in June to March 3, 2020. I was fortunate to be invited to an informational meeting hosted by the WLA Democratic Club where Dean Logan, the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, explained all that is new.

- You will be able to vote by going to any of the 1,000 Voting Centers in LA County, so gone are the days of having to vote at a specific precinct.
- You can register to vote, and vote at any of the 1,000 Voting Centers in LA County.
- March 3, 2020 is Election Day, but voting will actually begin 10 days before Election Day, on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
- A new Ballot Marking Device will replace the traditional Ink-A-Dot system.
- You will be able to make your choices in advance on your smartphone, and scan them into the Ballot Marking Device at the Voting Center, saving a lot of time.
